Horsemanship Lessons and Classes
Our youth classes are available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-7:30 pm and Friday and Saturday, from noon-2 pm. The cost per class is $50. Enroll in one a week, two a week or as many as you like and enjoy discounted rates!

We are not the type of facility where the student shows up to a prepared horse, hops on and rides then hops off and goes home and the horse is taken care of. We teach horsemanship with a high emphasis on safety.
Students learn almost all there is to know about horses. They will learn interesting facts about horses, what horses can and should not eat, horse anatomy, parts of a saddle and how to put a saddle on the horse. They will groom, pick hooves, halter and walk the horses, and they will ride.
All of this cannot be covered in one 2-hr class, of course. It takes about 6 classes just to get through the basics and classes are cyclic so it really does not matter which class they choose.
We also do have package deals for 6 classes and monthly memberships.

Your kids deserve to learn important life-lessons and have fun too! A chance for your kid to learn the best lessons of their lives. Your kids can develop confidence, leadership and discipline while working with horses.
2-Hour Youth Group Class
EFEC's 2-hour small group youth classes are specially themed and programmed for students ages 6-17 to match their energy and apply their creativity. Portions of the class will be spent in lessons on grooming, anatomy, interesting facts and diet all with a strong emphasis on safety. Other portions will sub-divide students into even more targeted skill levels and age-appropriate horseback riding activities.
We’re small and personal.
Our small group youth classes are limited to 10 students broken down into smaller groups of no more than 5 creating a highly supervised student-to-staff ratio. Get ready for a new adventure with each class! Our program runs from the moment your child is dropped off to the time you pick them up again, and both lessons and activities encompass the day-to-day equestrian lifestyle while instilling qualities of hard work, dedication and good horsemanship. Our ultimate goal is to teach each participant what it would be like to have a horse of their own.
Weather is not a factor.
Activities can take place indoors or outdoors, weather permitting. Your young equestrian will be instructed and given the opportunity to perform groundwork and ride in our 16,000 sq-ft indoor or 20,000 sq-ft outdoor arenas. Once confident the basics have been achieved, we hit the trails! Slow and steady at first on the beginner trails outlining the open areas and pasture fencing. The beautifully scenic 40-acre hilltop property of Elysian Fields Equestrian Center offers almost a guarantee we will see whitetail deer and a fair chance at a glance at wild turkey from the trails.
More Info/What to bring:
While we do provide everything needed, some items are encouraged to be brought by your child.
Spillproof water bottle - We provide water, Gatorade, and lemonade (No Soda). A spillproof container marked with your child’s name or easily recognizable will be very helpful.
Helmets are required and we do provide SEI Certified Equestrian Riding Helmets.
FAMILY DISCOUNTS & YEAR PAYMENT OPTION:
Family discounts apply to immediate family members only!
The first family member (student with the most hours) pays full price, each additional family member gets a 25% discount.
DISCOUNTED PAYMENTS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE.
Please do NOT pre-pay if you have any doubt that your child will withdraw from a class.
A $20 fee will be charged for any checks returned to us by your bank.
Please NOTE: There are NO REFUNDS for missed classes; however, they may be made up within 2 WEEKS of the absence.
The rates above are not adjusted for classes cancelled due to holidays, inclement weather or other uncontrollable circumstances. Likewise, there is NO EXTRA CHARGE for months that have 5 classes.
Tuition is based on how many classes per week a student studies at Elysian Fields Equestrian Center

Friday (Homeschool): Noon - 2 pm

2-HOUR ADULT HORSEMANSHIP CLASSES
Friday: 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
$50/Class - can enroll in mutliple classes per week.
$225 for six (6) classes
$160 / month for one (1) class per week
$300 / month for two (2) classes per week
$450 / month for three (3) classes per week
$600 / month for four (4) classes per week
Enroll in a six class package or monthly membership and receive a FREE Elysian Fields Equestrian Center T-Shirt for the student to show off they are part of the Elysian Fields Equestrian Center family.
Private Lessons are available for all ages
outside of the times listed above for $60/hour.
$30/half-hour for 6 and under.
